Tax Rate Issue

STOP CALLING ME with ordering reminders when you think my supply ran out!!! Add an option in Privacy in the account management portion of the app so the user can Opt Out of that! Why does your app show and charge a 9% sales tax rate when checking out with Apple Pay, but then the invoice is corrected to the appropriate tax rate for the state order is being placed from?! How has this NOT yet been fixed yet in over 3 years?!?!?!?!?

Hiding the Lens Gauge, really?

Somewhere along the way either the designers or business owners totally lost sight of the REAL day to day use of this app. Sure, it’s very good for buying lenses. But that’s something customers buy annually or at least several months at a time. For those of us still wearing MONTHLY lenses— we want to check the LENS GAUGE. We’re using that for several months (up to a year) between purchases. That frequently used feature is now buried on the hamburger menu with eight other options. It used to be on the Home Screen or even tab bar at the bottom. Those of us who rely on the gauge can hope that someone will come to their senses and restore the gauge to the Home Screen somewhere.

Worked perfect better than expected

I never review anything but their eye exam literally only took like 5 minutes and saved me over $200 from going to my eye doc and I have an older iPhone. 10/10 app and company

If you have face tattoos. The 20 dollar exam won’t work. Never had issue before but I guess business will be taken elsewhere. I got this for convenience now it’s not really convenient now is it?

Made a mistake on an App order. Immediately tried to cancel and was forced to contact 1800Contacts After 30 minutes of back and forth and being asked ALL the information that’s on the App again I cancelled the order. The rep just dragged it all out so long I will always get them from Walmart from now on.

Frustrated every step of the way.

I put in an order, attached prescription, and paid. They advertise it being that simple and it never is. Got an email that product was back ordered, and a call that my prescription needed to be updated. 1. I got a prescription from an eye doctor in 2023. They really pushed me to get the eye exam (which you need the contacts to do). Texas state law says 1-2 years, plus in the advertisement for the express exam, they say the 12 month prescription thing is a MYTH, so they really just want to charge you another fee as a step in the process to pay for their exam. Even if I had I still wouldn’t have gotten my back ordered contacts. 2. Product wasn’t back ordered, customer service rep confirmed the larger quantity was available. All the stuff comes in intervals of 30, so really it was just in bigger boxes that they didn’t want to break into smaller boxes. If you’re a business that advertises customer service and ease, be that.

Apple Pay problem

Wasn’t able to use Apple Pay to purchase my lenses. Something wrong with the system - the order never went through.

Prescription Renewal Advisory

I already got a prescription renewal for free 2 weeks ago that wa approved and it made me do it again once I got paid and finally could get contacts and charged me.

Be careful letting them look at your prescription to order for you.

I ordered a years worth of contacts from 1-800 contacts. I opted for them to fill out my prescription as that is what they recommended so your order gets filled faster. I had to contact them about the status of my order and only then did they tell me it was on back order for 2 more months. I had no more contacts. I finally get the order which did come a bit earlier than the 2 months; however, the left eye was extremely blurry. I realized that they sent me the wrong axis for my left eye and it didn’t match my prescription. When I called they said I can’t get the replacement for another 2 months. The best they could do is send a “hand written apology letter and a $10 coupon”. This isn’t worth any bit of price savings. Won’t be buying from here again. They had quick responses from customer service which is the only reason I gave them an extra star.

I love using this service! If I ever have a question or need anything out of the ordinary, they are always very helpful and offer personal service. Love the text reminders as well :)

Frustrating

Poor integration of customer account on app and website. One says one thing for products ordered and renewals. One says another. Continues to ba a problem they won’t address. The handling of your RX is maddening. You try to upload and it says it did. Only to get emails about how your order can’t ship until they can verify RX. Customer support is clueless and doesn’t solve the problem. Maybe another symptom of poor integration between info on app and website? On going problem. I just followed a prompt via email that literally stated my RX was on file and it was time to renew. The products were wrong in the “cart.” It says insurance benefit was applied but it doesn’t show up anywhere on the pricing or cost/charges recap that you press “ order” with. Then you get a message that the RX needs to be verified and you need to upload it (again). These problems continue and they must not care. Nothing ever gets fixed. So done with this lazy, poorly operated company.

Exam sham

I have had two eye exams in the past year, including one with a retina specialist in the last two months with another in two weeks. I was not happy with the lenses I was being offered at the eye exam, and wish to order the prescription I have been wearing and which works great for me. When I sign up for the online exam, I am told I’m too old! Seriously?

Order Error and bad customer service

On our recent order it errored out, so we tried again and it worked, but it turns out they charged us twice. We immediately chat online with someone and they tell us they will cancel the duplicate order. The order never gets cancelled and they send us a duplicate order that we NEVER approved. We chat again with an online employee and they say we have to return it to get a refund. I tell them it was their mistake and they leave the live chat. Rude and awful customer service.

Express Exam

The express contacts exam super easy and fast. Makes it very convenient for people with busy schedules or people who live in a rural area. This is the third time using this service and I have no complaints.

Very slow

I ordered contacts on July 25th and paid $19.99 for 1 day shipping. Today is July 29th and my contacts still have not been shipped. I contacted 1-800 contacts for support and was told I’d get refunded the $19.99 shipping but my order would be updated to 5-7 day business shipping which is free. 😵‍💫 sure?

Overpriced and misleading

This company says it will “beat any price on contacts” but refuses to beat competitors pricing when you’ve actually found a deal. They state they will beat US web competitors cart for cart by a $1, and that’s simply not true. That’s false advertising and misleading. Please shop around for your contacts, as this company is not competitive at all. Even their shipping prices are higher than competitors and in my experience always delayed from the advertised timeline.

I have used this company since 2005. Easy to renew prescription. Super easy to order. Never had a delivery problem. My only complaint is that it started out as $25 and now is $52. $52 for a pack of contacts for 15 days! $1250 a year! Sigh, sadly I’m not going to continue with the co.

Online exam

The online exam doesn’t not work properly for iPhone 15 phones. I had to delete the app and do it from the online version. Please fix. It was very frustrating when the app would open automatically for links.

Best contacts I’ve ever worn

I had my initial exam and visit at America’s Best and bro, it was so pricey. The exam on top of the contact subscription was expensive but then every year I had to go back in for a new $130 exam just to be told the vision in one eye changed ever so slightly and now I need all new subscriptions and that was the case. My friend told me about 1800contacts and it was a game-changer. The exam on my phone was super fast and only like $20 I think and then they updated my subscription and sent me a supply of contacts for way less. The best part was I didn’t have to pay for a yearly exam and the lenses they sent were way better than my originals! I had no blurriness or eye fatigue at all. I am so satisfied and highly recommend 1800contacts. Free shipping and such fast service.

Cumbersome, incoherent app

When I go to “prescriptions,” it gives me three options: To upload it, enter manually, or to take a photo of the side of a box of contacts. Hey, what about that prescription I just did through you guys online? Is that anywhere? Also, do you guys have any contacts beside aquasoft and my orders from last year? I messed around with the app and eventually got in my shopping cart the contacts I wanted. I’ll see if these aquasoft reps will send them to me. No thanks to the least intuitive shopping app I’ve ever used.

Worst place on the internet to order your contacts

Stopped using this place years ago. Then decide to try them again. I now remember why I stopped. Absolute nightmare of an app and customer service. Contacts claim to be shipped but just sit there pending for days after you pay for overnight shipping. Never again
